Come join us next Friday for a very pertinent discussion on “The impact of the European Debt Crisis on Asian Economies” with John Moore, Managing Director and Head of U.S. Rates at TD Securities. Mr. Moore has had extensive involvement in financial services, most notably as CEO of Bear Stearns Asia. This event has an interesting international focus that overlaps in politics, finance, and economics. The event is presented by the Yale Student Investment Group (YSIG) and the Yale Undergraduate Economic Association (YUEA). All Yale students are invited to attend!

John Moore’s Biography:
Mr. Moore joined TD Securities in April 2009, and is now Managing Director and Head of the U.S. Rates business.

Mr. Moore began his 20 year career at Salomon Brothers and then at Richardson Greenshields in Toronto, where he worked in Capital Markets covering Canadian sovereign and corporate borrowers. He spent 6 years at JP Morganacross various disciplines including Capital Markets, Government trading and derivatives. His last 3 years he managed the Global AAA business in New York and London where the business originated, traded and executed bond and derivative transactions for the world’s largest borrowers.

He joined Bear Stearns in 2001 in New York where he ran the US Agency business. Roles in NY then included running Syndicate and Debt Capital Markets. He moved to London in 2004 to manage all Sales and Trading activities and then became Head of Fixed Income for Europe and the Middle East. In 2007, Mr. Moore moved to Hong Kong as Bear’s first CEO for Asia Pacific. Until joining TD, his last role was Global Head of Sovereign Wealth Funds and Central Banks at JP Morgan based in Hong Kong.

Mr. Moore holds a BA from Yale University and an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
